What Is Permanent MakeUp?

Have you ever wished for 10 extra minutes in the morning to properly apply your eyeliner? Or even better, if you just got up, rinsed your face and your foundation & lip blush would already be applied?

With permanent makeup, it’s possible!

Permanent makeup is a set of revolutionary techniques in which natural pigments are applied to the dermal layer of skin. With permanent makeup, your lipstick, lip liner, eyebrow pencil, and eyeliner will appear as if they’ve just been applied – 24/7.

Permanent Makeup (PMU) is also called permanent cosmetics or micro-pigmentation. PMU is a cosmetic technique that employs pigments & ink as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eye lining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids.

Anything that implants pigment or ink into the skin is considered a tattoo and on the face, it’s called permanent makeup aka PMU.

Apart from having this beautifying effect, permanent makeup is also useful to people who wish to disguise vitiligo, scars, and white spots, or for those who suffer from diseases such as alopecia and want to have defined eyebrows again.

There are multiple procedures available under PMU such as Eyebrow correction, Lip correction & blush, Scalp Micro-pigmentation, Eyelash Lift & even the popular BB Glow! Each of these procedures may encompass multiple techniques. For example, Eyebrow Correction includes techniques like 6D Microblading, Ombre Shading, or Powder Brows & Combination Techniques.

Although PMU and Tattoos may appear similar, that is only superficial. The equipment, tools, specialized training, and even the extensive consultation process before any PMU procedure is quite different from what you would experience while getting a Tattoo.

Let us delve deeper into a PMU Procedure for more details.

LIP VITILIGO TREATMENT

Vitiligo (pronounced “vit-il-EYE-go”) is a skin condition that causes your skin to lose its color or pigment. This causes your skin to appear lighter than your natural skin tone or turn white. It is estimated that about 1% of the entire human population suffers from vitiligo.

Advanced Lip correction & Micro-pigmentation procedures can help with scarring on the lips, uneven skin tone & Vitiligo. If one of your lips is darker or lighter than the other, this procedure is the easiest way to fix it. Lip correction can often require multiple sessions depending on individual requirements but can fully cover any blemishes or scarring!

After a detailed consultation, a PMU specialist uses a cosmetic pencil to mark out the anatomy of your lips as well as the areas which would be treated. Following this, your lips are anesthetized using a topical numbing cream. The specialist then uses a  Microblading pen to inject pigments underneath the derma (outer layer of the skin). A good PMU specialist can properly blend the area being treated with the skin surrounding it so that your lips look completely natural.

While Lip correction tints the affected area to match the unaffected parts of your lips, Lip Blush tints your lips to a desired Lipstick-like shade that stays on for months.

Tinted lips or Lip Correction do not impact your ability to wear lipstick, and they can be covered by any lip product whenever you want. The result is subtle & results in a balanced, natural look!

The power of PMU procedures to positively impact the lives of people is immense. However, it is extremely important that you undergo a PMU procedure under a trained and experienced PMU specialist. Apart from the usual concerns of sanitation to avoid infections, Permanent Makeup is almost impossible to remove once done. You can end up with a wrongly shaped PMU Brow that can be disastrous for your looks and push you into months of trauma and heartache.
